Outreach and Service Opportunities
Anacostia Watershed Society
Explore
volunteer, educational and recreational opportunities on the river. The Anacostia, although badly degraded, is developing into a beautiful scenic resource and an engine for economic renewal in D.C.’s poorest neighborhoods.
Chesapeake Bay Foundation
Focuses on preserving the ecological resources of the Bay. This nonprofit's website features education material, access to critical Bay issues, and tools for citizens to take action on behalf of the Bay.
Chesapeake Climate Action Network
Fights global warming in Maryland, Virginia and DC. Good place to find out about upcoming local opportunities for learning and advocacy, including workshops, rallies, petitions, bike rides and more.
Interfaith Climate Change Network
Is a collaborative effort of the Eco-Justice Group of the National Council of Churches of Christ and the Coalition of Environment and Jewish Life. Visitors are invited to become a part of their network to pursue justice for the poor and protect all life on Earth by taking actions to address global climate change.
Friends of Rock Creek's Environment (FORCE)
Works in Montgomery County and DC to promote a healthy and sustainable Rock Creek watershed through conservation, education and restoration.

The Regeneration Project
Seeks to mobilize a national religious response to global warming while promoting renewable energy, energy efficiency and conservation.
