Safe Church, Safe Communities (formerly Safeguarding God’s Children/People) is an online training that provides participants with the information they need to build and sustain healthy, safe relationships in their ministry context.
Standards for Youth and Family Ministries
The diocese is committed to welcoming and protecting the well-being of all children and youth to participate in activities at our congregations. Toward this end, we have established the following Standards for Youth and Children’s Ministries.
Substance Abuse and Alcohol Policy
The Diocese of Washington believes it is important that any clergy person or diocesan lay employee having problems with the use of alcohol or drugs be treated with pastoral love and concern. We also understand that active substance misuse among those who minister to whole communities can have drastic and far-reaching consequences.
