Thomas Keating and Beatrice Bruteau\, Colleen Thomas will lead us in exploring the heart of Jesus’ teaching in the Gospel of John 17. In this Gospel\, Jesus’ final prayer can be summed up as “that they may be one\, as we are one.” As we commune with God through Centering Prayer\, we become one with God. \nYet like the prayer itself\, becoming one with others is not always so easy. Together we will reflect on the contemplative path as a movement beyond personal healing and transformation towards a prophetic and collective healing. With the vibrant colors of the Mediterranean as the backdrop\, you will gaze in wonder at the magnificent views from cliffs in the Greek Islands that leaves little doubt who is the Creator of such beauty. \nDuring our journey we will enjoy sharing teachings of God’s Word\, fellowship\, songs of worship and celebration of the Holy Eucharist as we move more intimately into Paul’s message\, the Love and Hope of Jesus. This Pilgrimage will also bring even deeper spiritual insight as we connect the Epistles of Paul you’ve read so often to the historical sites where he laid the foundations of our faith. \nEvery ship requires an Anchor for safe keeping during its travels. In the spirit of Paul\, we rely on Isaiah 12:4-5 to be the heart of our Pilgrimage and to anchor our mission. \n“Give praise to the LORD\, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done\, and proclaim that his name is exalted. Sing to the LORD\, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world.” \nWe hope you will prayerfully consider hopping on board as we Set Sail with Paul. Our voyage assures that like him\, we can be forever changed by God’s overflowing love and grace of a Savior. Then also like Paul\, we can go forth unashamed in boldly Proclaiming the Good News of Christ to others! \nPeace\, Love\, and Blessings\, \nJamie and Frances URL:https://edow.org/event/setting-sail-with-paul-proclaiming-the-good-news-of-christ/ LOCATION:All Saints\, Chevy Chase\, 3 Chevy Chase Circle\, Chevy Chase\, MD\, 20815\, United States CATEGORIES:External ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://edow.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2024/03/Picture1.png END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/New_York:20241116T100000 DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20241116T120000 DTSTAMP:20240328T223737 CREATED:20240205T174649Z LAST-MODIFIED:20240216T155128Z UID:10000751-1731751200-1731758400@edow.org SUMMARY:Autumn Diocesan Confirmation Service DESCRIPTION:The Diocesan Confirmation Service is a liturgical event for individuals to be confirmed or received into The Episcopal Church\, or to reaffirm one’s baptismal vows.
