Trail2Truth Youth Event
April 2, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
$5
In an effort to allow youth space to consider the effects of race and injustice in our history on our ability to live into our Baptismal promises, Province III of The Episcopal Church has designed a day of reflection and activity to gather youth in several Dioceses together to open our eyes and hearts to racial injustice.
Our program in EDOW will be in two parts:
Part 1: Morning Program (9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) for High School Youth will take place at St. John’s Church, Olney
We will be connecting virtually with other Trail2Truth events in the Province for worship and presentations on cultural identities and competencies, inclusion, and unconscious bias. Youth will be interacting in person to respond to the presentations.
Lunch will be provided around noon.
Part 2: Afternoon Program (1:00-4:00 p.m.) Hiking the Underground Railroad Experience Trail at Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park (all ages welcome)
The trail is about 4 miles round trip over wide, well groomed paths (though there may be mud if it’s rained recently). Event planners will arrange for admission to the Woodlawn Stone Barn Museum for the exhibit about the Underground Railroad.
The $5 per person cost covers lunch and admission fees.
