YOUTH & YOUNG ADULT MINISTRIES

Christian faith formation in The Episcopal Church is a lifelong journey with Christ, in Christ, and to Christ. At the diocesan level, we offer children, youth, young adults and families the opportunity to have a transforming encounter with Jesus so that they may discover or develop and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and share God’s love with others.

Children, Youth, and Family Ministries

The diocese supports our parishes in their mission to help children, youth, and families grow spiritually by inspiring and equipping congregational leaders and providing formational and programmatic resources.

Formational Resources

Participating in formation activities is how individuals and communities deepen and mature their faith. We invite you to explore resources and opportunities that support and sustain you in your Christian journey both as an individual and as a community. Learn More

Summer Camp

In April 2021, the Diocese of Washington entered into a cooperative relationship with the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland (EDOM) to provide transformational and formational experiences essential to the faith development of adults, young adults, and youth at the Claggett Center in Frederick, Maryland.

Through this partnership, Claggett provides weeklong camp programs for our youth, from rising 2nd grade to recently graduated high school seniors.

Summer Camps at Claggett are grounded in Scripture and tradition, and encourage campers and staff to use their whole selves as ways to explore the Christian Story.

Young Adult Ministry

Young Adults are vital members of the Diocese of Washington and active in ministry and outreach both in their parishes and at the diocesan level. Young Adults are encouraged to join the EDOW Young Adults group on Facebook to connect with other young adults in the diocese.

Campus Ministry

The Diocese of Washington supports campus ministers at Howard University and the University of Maryland, College Park, who also work within local parishes. The local parish is our focal point for ministry, and our goal is to help students grow their faith within the love and nurture of a local parish family.
