Safeguarding God’s Children has been replaced by Praesidium Academy. The online courses provide participants (Learners) with the information they need to protect the children they know and care for in their personal lives and the ministries in which they serve.


Child Abuse Prevention Training

For those who need to recertify:

    • Complete the Abuse Prevention Refresher course (available in English and Spanish)

For those taking training for the first time, complete the following courses. These are available in English and Spanish.

    • Safe Church, Safe Communities: Introduction and Theological Foundations, Organizational Rules and Policies and Abuse and Neglect
    • Keeping Your Church Safe (staff, vestries, those working with children and youth); or
    • Keeping Your School Safe (those working in education settings)

Praesidium Academy uses email addresses for login. If you’ve forgotten your password, follow these instructions.

  3. Enter in the email address associated with your Academy account.
  4. Click the blue Reset Password button.
  5. Check your email.

  6. Click the link inside of your email to set a new password for your Academy account.

The Episcopal Church Safe Church Task Force is completing its work on in-person training materials. Online training on Praesidium Academy should be used through the end of 2021. In-person training will resume in 2022.
