Collectively we are experiencing a time of rapid change and uncertainty. The impact of existing in sustained uncertainty can be felt both physically and emotionally and feel destabilizing. This workshop will address
uncertainty through a lens of grief and trauma with an exploration on the nervous system’s response, strategies for tending to the nervous system’s response and how rituals can be utilized to offer tending and containment. Participants will be provided with tools and strategies to provide support self and others. This 90 min session is intended for those in caretaking roles looking to enhance their skills and strategies for supporting others in managing uncertainty and non-death related grief events (i.e., job loss and transitions).
This event is a part of the School for Christian Faith and Leadership’s effort to support our extended Diocesan family in the face of job loss and uncertainty among federal workers and those whose livelihood is tied to the US government. It is a partnership with the Wendt Center for Loss and Healing, and is tailored for clergy and lay leaders who provide pastoral care and support in the context of our EDOW congregations and institutions. There will be an event on July 17 tailored to the needs of those who are experiencing the crisis firsthand.
