Standing Together on Holy Ground: A Conversation about Reparations

At its 2025 Convention, the Episcopal Diocese of Washington will consider resolutions on Diocesan reparations for harms related to the enslavement, segregation, and marginalization of people of African ancestry. A formal hearing on the content of the resolutions will take place as part of the normal pre-Convention process and will be announced to delegates to Convention.

This conversation is a place to explore the spiritual dimensions of reparations in the context of our life and history as a diocese. It’s a place to bring your questions, your wonderings, your skepticism and your longing for wholeness in Christ. We will learn together about both the harms that have been uncovered and the invitation to imagine and build new ways of being Christian community going forward.
