In response to the House of Representatives considering bills to restrict asylum and to bolster border security, earlier this week the Episcopal Public Policy Network (EPPN) issued a call urging Episcopalians to contact their members of Congress to pass a bill like the Dream Act to protect individuals who have called this country their home their whole lives.
The Episcopal Church has a longstanding commitment to protecting undocumented individuals brought to the United States as children (the “Dreamers”), and has advocated for legal status for Dreamers since 2009, calling on Congress to pass “federal legislation that presents a pathway to citizenship for undocumented youth and young adults.”
