An Invitation to The Renewal of Vows Service & Blessing of Chrism

Tuesday, April 15, 2025—Washington National Cathedral

Each year, we gather during Holy Week for a Eucharistic liturgy that includes the prayers and promises of the renewal of their vows and the blessing of oils. Our service is a chance for all orders: laity, deacons, priests, and bishops to renew their vows made at baptism, confirmation, and ordination. The service will begin at noon at Washington National Cathedral. Clergy of the diocese are invited to vest (with red stoles) and process for the service of The Renewal of Vows and Chrism Blessing. Bishop Mariann will preach and preside at the service.

Immediately following the service, all clergy are invited to a simple lunch with the bishop on the 7th floor of the cathedral.

Please note: all clergy will vest in St. Mary’s Chapel prior to the service and be led by a cathedral verger to begin the service procession.

Invitación al Servicio de Renovación de Votos y Bendición del Crisma

Cada año, nos reunimos durante la Semana Santa para una liturgia eucarística que incluye las oraciones y promesas de la renovación de sus votos y la bendición de los óleos. Nuestro servicio es una oportunidad para que todas las órdenes: laicos, diáconos, sacerdotes y obispos renueven sus votos hechos en el bautismo, la confirmación y la ordenación.
El servicio comenzará a mediodía en la Catedral Nacional de Washington. El clero de la diócesis está invitado a revestirse (con estolas rojas) y procesar para el servicio de Renovación de Votos y Bendición Crismal. La Obispa Mariann predicará y presidirá el servicio.

Inmediatamente después del servicio, todo el clero está invitado a un sencillo almuerzo con la Obispa en la 7ª planta de la catedral.
